Associate Professor
I am an engineer with a strong interest in the physics of sub-core-scale processes that control the porous medium behavior at the core scale. I really enjoy developing physically representative models that apply to real-world problems. I have worked closely with petroleum engineers, geologists, chemical engineers, applied mathematicians, and mechanical engineers over the years, which has helped me to communicate more easily with people from different backgrounds. In my group, we perform experimental, theoretical, and numerical research on different aspects of shale and carbonate formations. We combine experiments with analytical research to better understand the underlying physics of the problem being examined.
